Atelier Yumia Opens Digital Pre-Orders, Reveals Opening Trailer
Koei Tecmo announced that digital pre-orders for the latest Atelier game, Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land are now live across multiple regions and platforms. The game is due for release worldwide on the 21st of March and will be available digitally and in some cases physically (depending on region and platform) across PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

To celebrate the news, developers Gust and publisher Koei Tecmo released a YouTube video showcasing the game's opening movie with the theme song "Labyrinth Synapse" by flumpool. A new key visual featuring the main cast (included above) was also revealed.
The publisher describes the game as follows:
"In Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, players will follow alchemist Yumia Liessfeldt as she joins the Aladiss Research team in hope to unravel the mysteries behind the cataclysm that destroyed the once great continent of Aladiss. Spearheaded by the Order of Eustella and led by Erhard, the Aladiss Research team is an organisation focused on investigating the fallen land of Aladiss, and is composed by researchers, adventurers and mercenaries. Yumia and her friends will be tasked to travel across the three regions of the continent to uncover the mysteries hidden in the ruins of the fallen Aladissian Empire.
Yumia’s journey will begin in the Ligneus region, where the Research team established its first base, far from the Aladissian capital. Yumia will travel through the plains and forest that make up the landscape, and discover research facilities abandoned by the alchemists of the time. Among the points of interest in the region, players will visit the Arbor Botanical Garden and the 8th Laboratory, before continuing their journey."
Atelier Yumia is the latest game in the long-running Atelier franchise that has been ongoing since 1997. Last year, Koei Tecmo released a remake of the first entry in the series: Atelier Maria: The Alchemist of Salburg. Prior to that, the last main series release was Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, which brought the Ryza trilogy to its conclusion. The publisher also plans to release the mobile game spin-off Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian worldwide sometime in 2025.
Atelier Yumia marks a major step forward for the franchise as it gives players an open-world experience for the first time in the history of the series. It also features real-time action combat and a house-building system, which further sets it apart from other entries in the franchise.
