Cute High Earth Defense Club Announces New Anime

Cute High Earth Defense HIGH COLOR is the latest addition to the magical boys franchise, as announced earlier today with a visual. Shinji Takamatsu is returning to direct, but this time at Studio DEEN.

Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! anime started in 2015. It was created by Kurari Umatani and produced by Diomedéa. Shinji Takamatsu directed the anime, while Michiko Yokote wrote the scripts. Yamazo composed the music.

Studio Comet animated the sequel Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!, released in 2016, an OVA episode in 2017, and the 2018 Cute High Earth Defense Club Happy Kiss! TV anime. The same studio also worked on the Cute High Earth Defense Club Movie: ETERNAL LOVE! movie, released in January of this year in Japan.

Cute High Earth Defense HIGH COLOR was announced following the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the franchise. Further details have not been announced.

Crunchyroll is streaming the anime (three seasons and the OVA) and describes the plot as:
The story revolves around the members of the “Earth Defense Club” aka the “Do Nothing Club” at Binan High School. One day, the club members are soaking in a hot bath together when all of a sudden a mysterious pink wombat appears out of thin air! The wombat asks the members to lend it their help to protect the Earth. At school the next day, each of the club members receives a magical bracelet enveloping them in a dazzling light.
