Season 2 of the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End anime is slated to premiere in January 2026, as announced earlier with a teaser visual. Studio MADHOUSE is returning to animate the highly-anticipated sequel.

Atsumi Tanezaki, who voice the titular Frieren, commented on the announcement:
Now that I know that the series will begin broadcasting in January next year, I feel relieved, happy, and motivated to work hard on the dubbing. It's a silly, but irreplaceable adventure. I'm looking forward to watching Frieren and her friends' adventures again in January. Everyone, please look forward to it.
In addition to Tanezaki, the cast also includes Kana Ichinose as Fern, Chiaki Kobayashi as Stark, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Himmel.
The first season of the adaptation was also animated by MADHOUSE and it premiered in 2023, quickly becoming one of the top titles of the year. Keichiro Sato directed it and the staff also included:
- Series Composition: Tomohiro Suzuki
- Character Designer: Reiko Nagasawa
- Chief Animation Director: Reiko Nagasawa, Yuri Fujinaka, Maru Takase
- Music: Evan Call
The anime adapts the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga written by Kanehito Yamada and drawn by Tsukasa Abe. The manga began serialization in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2020 and is still ongoing.
