Jujutsu Kaisen Compilation Movie Introduces Acoustic Version of "Where Our Blue Is"
Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death revealed a trailer featuring a new acoustic version Tatsuya Kitani's "Where Our Blue Is" ("Ao no Sumika") theme song, used as the opening for the TV anime. In addition to singing it, Kitani also wrote, composed, and arranged the song. The movie premieres on May 30 in Japan.
The first season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime ran for 24 episodes in Fall 2020/Winter 2021 anime seasons. It was followed by a prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 in 2021. The second of the TV anime aired in 2023 and it covered the "Hidden Inventory/Premature Death" and "Shibuya Incident" arcs. This movie is a compilation of the first part of the second season and it focuses on Geto and Gojo's youth and consists of five episodes.
The sequel covering "Culling Games" arc was announced following the second season's finale.
The anime is adapting the Jujutsu Kaisen manga by Gege Akutami. The manga was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 2018 to 2024. It was compiled into 30 volumes. VIZ Media licensed it in English; as of today 25 volumes are out and 26th is slated to release on May 20, 2025.
