Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Reveals First Trailer

The Kaiju No. 8 revealed the first trailer ahead of the July 2025 premiere date. Production I.G is returning to animate the sequel that will introduce new characters. The new trailer features Gen Narumi (voiced by Koki Uchiyama):

The anime series recently debuted the Mission Recon movie, which is a recap of the TV anime's first season combined with a special focused on Hoshina.

Kaiju No. 8 is based on a manga by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ app and website since July 2020. An anime adaptation by Production I.G. aired in April 2023, while a second anime season is expected to premiere in 2025. Crunchyroll streams the anime and describes the plot:

In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.
