Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Lonely Dragon Movie Reveals Key Visual, Cast Additions
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: The Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved movie revealed a new key visual. The movie premieres on June 27 in Japan. fhána is returning to do the theme song.

Tatsuya Ishihara is directing the Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid: The Lonely Dragon Wants to Be Loved movie. He is co-credited with late Yasuhiro Takemoto, who directed the first season of the TV anime and died in the 2019 arson attack on the studio. The two shared the credit on the second season, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S, which aired in 2021 for 12 episodes. Miku Kadowaki is doing the character designs.
Two new characters will be appearing in the movie. They are Kimun Kamui (voiced by Fumihiko Tachiki), Kanna's real father who drove her away, and Azad (Nobunaga Shimazaki), a military strategist trusted by even the most violent dragons:


Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid is based on a manga written and illustrated by Coolkyousinnjya. The manga has been ongoing since 2013. It was serialized in Futabasha’s Monthly Action magazine until 2024, but after the magazine ceased publication it was moved to Manga Action. Four spin-off titles, Kanna’s Daily Life, Elma’s Office Lady Diary, Lucoa is my xx, and Fafnir the Recluse, were also serialized in Monthly Action and later moved to Web Action.
