SAKAMOTO DAYS has received a new music video as part of the Shonen Jump "JUMP MV" project, a collaboration between Shonen Jump titles and artists from the Sony Music Group.

The music video features the song "Run SAKAMOTO" by Vaundy, the same song used as the opening for Season 1 of the SAKAMOTO DAYS anime. The highly-anticipated second cour will stream exclusively on Netflix from July 14.

In the video description, Shonen Jump offered the following information about Vaundy (translated from the original Japanese using DeepL):

Vaundy is 24 years old.

He is a multi-talented artist who writes, composes, and arranges all of his own music, and also directs and self-produces designs and videos.

He has released a wide range of songs with memorable melodies in a variety of genres, such as “Tokyo Flash” and “Fukakouryoku,” which quickly became the talk of the town on social networking sites. He has garnered attention as a symbolic figure in the age of subscriptions, and his 17 songs have surpassed 100 million views, making him the number one male solo artist in Japan, and his total views on YouTube and subscriptions have now exceeded 8.2 billion.

Next year, in 2026, he will become the youngest male solo artist in history to tour the four major domes for the first time.

SAKAMOTO DAYS is a Japanese manga series by Yuto Suzuki, and has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020. The series is also simultaneously published in English by Viz Media and Manga Plus.

The official website describes the plot:

The man who was feared by all villains, and revered by all hitmen—one day, fell in love! When Sakamoto met Aoi the convenience store clerk, it was love at first sight; and just like that, he retired. Sakamoto got married, had a daughter, opened a mom-and-pop store in a quiet town, and completely transformed... into a plus-size! To ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary ex-hitman takes on a relentless stream of assassin attacks. This action-packed story of the ordinary and extraordinary begins here!
