Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke Movie Returns to North America This March

Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke is returning to US and Canada theatres, this time in 4K IMAX version, courtesy of GKIDS. The "Restoration" version is going to screen in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the famed Studio Ghibli starting on March 26. It will be available in both English-subbed and dubbed options. Tickets are now on sale.

The Princess Mononoke movie was originally released in July of 1997. It was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, produced by Toshio Suzuki with music by Joe Hisaishi. It was the first Studio Ghibli movie to be released internationally. Neil Gaiman adapted the movie to the English market. Ghibli's Atsushi Okui oversaw the new version of the movie.

GKIDS describes the plot of the movie as:

Featuring the voice talents of Gillian Anderson, Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, Minnie Driver, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Billy Bob Thornton.
