Top Slice-of-Life Anime of Spring 2025 That Should Be on Your Watchlist
With Spring 2025 coming at us like a truck going after future isekai protagonists, it's time to figure out what to watch. And if you're like me, you'll tell yourself you'll pick up the most interesting titles but instead, you end up watching everything because of "kawaii waifus."
Unfortunately, watching thirty-plus shows isn't feasible if one wants a functioning life. So, say you want to balance binge-watching anime and day-to-day living; what do you do? In that scenario, you turn to recommendations and see what's getting hyped. But what if you reject the mainstream? What if you see titles like Windbreaker and Gundam and immediately feel bored?
That means you're looking for something slower-paced — you want shows that depict true escapism, a worry-free life. If so, these slice-of-life-esque shows are what you're looking for!

Zatsu Tabi: That’s Journey — Sometimes Travel Hurts
If your "travels" are always enjoyable and never pose a threat to your physical or mental well-being, congratulations—you are not on a journey; you are on vacation. A journey will beat you down, but that grief is what leads to personal growth. That's what Zatsu Tabi: That’s Journey set out to convey.
Adapted from Kena Ishizaka's manga, Zatsu Tabi: That’s Journey follows the fledgling mangaka Chika Suzugamori. Will they change alongside her view of the places around her?

Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi — Nothing Wrong With a Lil' Bit of Murder
For some of us, a perfectly tranquil life includes good company, gourmet food, and lots and lots of violence. And that's fine; we should celebrate diversity. A world where you can't hide a body under your crawlspace is way too placid. Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi wholeheartedly endorses this sentiment.
When Satoko Kusagakure, a female shinobi #women'smonth, leaves her village, she runs into something no person is prepared for: the price of rent and housing inequity. But unlike most of us, luck is on her side as the female assassin, Konoha soon welcomes Satoko into her home. However, that cohabitation comes at a cost; Satoko has to help Konoha hide the evidence of her assassinations. Can you say hooray for evidence tampering? With that, the duo settles into a peaceful, crime-ridden life.
Hundred Burger writes and illustrates the Ninja to Koroshiya no Futarigurashi manga. Studio Shaft (prepare for head tilts) will animate the upcoming anime. NinKoro is slated for an April 10 premiere. The show's main voice cast includes:
- Kana Hanazawa as Konoha Koga
- Haruna Mikawa as Satoko Kusagakure
