Winners of 19th Seiyu Awards Revealed
The 19th Seiyu Awards took place this Saturday and the winners have been officially revealed. The annual voice actor awards abandoned the practice of separating the winners by gender in Best Lead Voice Actor, Best Supporting Voice Actor, Best New Voice Actor categorizes. This year there was no winner in the "Personality" category.
The winners of the 19th Seiyu Awards include:
- Best Lead Voice Actor
- Miho Okasaki (Rimuru in That Time I Got Reincarnated as Slime)
- Toshihiko Seki (Kitaro's Father in Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe)
- Best Support Voice Actor
- Asami Seto (Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen)
- Hidenobu Kiuchi (Mizuki in Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe)
- Hiroki Tochi (Heiter in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End)
- Yoko Hikasa (Arthur Pencilgon in Shangri-La Frontier)
- Best New Actor Award
- Hiro Ishibashi
- Shotaro Uzawa
- Hiroki Nanami
- Rika Hayashi
- Asaki Yuikawa
The "Singing Award" went to Kenichi Suzumura for Bravern in Brave Bang Bravern!, while Fairouz Ai and Maaya Uchida won the "Best Foreign Dub/Live-Action Show" award. Subaru Kimura, who is taking over Franky's role in One Piece, won the "Influencer Award" and Yuichi Nakamura was voted as the "Most Valuable Seiyu" (MVS).
Additional recognition includes "Merit Award" given to those who have contributed to many titles over the year (won by Mari Okamoto, Keichi Noda), "Synergy Award" for titles that highlight cast's talent the most (Mobile Suit Gundam Seed), "Kids/Family" award won by Wataru Hatano, "Game Award" won by Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and "Kei Tomiyama/Kazue Takahashi Awards" that are given to those active in many fields including acting (Soichiro Hoshi,
Wakana Yamazaki). Look Back movie won the "Special Award" at the 19th Seiyu Awards.
